High Temperature AFIC

A high-temperature Active Furnace Isolation Chamber (AFIC) has delivered to the University of Sheffield. Our AFIC units allow for plug-and-play failsafe HIPing of radioactive powders and hazardous materials in conventional HIPs. Designed using high temperature alloy, this AFIC is capable of containing radioactive materials at temperatures exceeding 1300°C in a HIP cycle. Featuring a colour-coded sample loading platform and a novel lifting/locking tool, it is designed for glovebox and fume hood operations.
